Democrats should ask Clinton to step aside

Has America become so numb by the decades of lies and cynicism oozing from Clinton Inc. that it could elect Hillary Clinton as president, even after Friday’s FBI announcement that it had reopened an investigation of her emails while secretary of state?

We’ll find out soon enough.

It’s obvious the American political system is breaking down.  It’s been crumbling for some time now, and the establishment elite know it and they’re properly frightened.  Donald Trump, the vulgarian at their gates, is a symptom, not a cause.  Hillary Clinton and husband Bill are both cause and effect.

FBI director James Comey‘s announcement about the renewed Clinton email investigation is the bombshell in the presidential campaign.  That he announced this so close to Election Day should tell every thinking person that what the FBI is looking at is extremely serious.

This can’t be about pervert Anthony Weiner and his reported desire for a teenage girl.  But it can be about the laptop of Weiner’s wife, Clinton aide Huma Abedin, and emails between her and Hillary.  It comes after the FBI investigation in which Comey concluded Clinton had lied and been “reckless” with national secrets, but said he could not recommend prosecution.

So what should the Democrats do now?

[ For videos, see: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/kass/ct-hillary-clinton-emails-kass-1030-20161028-column.html ]

If ruling Democrats hold themselves to the high moral standards they impose on the people they govern, they would follow a simple process:

They would demand that Mrs. Clinton step down, immediately, and let her vice presidential nominee, Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, stand in her place.

Democrats should say, honestly, that with a new criminal investigation going on into events around her home-brew email server from the time she was secretary of state, having Clinton anywhere near the White House is just not a good idea.

Since Oct. 7, WikiLeaks has released 35,000 emails hacked from Clinton campaign boss John Podesta.  Now WikiLeaks, no longer a neutral player but an active anti-Clinton agency, plans to release another 15,000 emails.

What if she is elected?  Think of a nation suffering a bad economy and continuing chaos in the Middle East, and now also facing a criminal investigation of a president.  Add to that congressional investigations and a public vision of Clinton as a Nixonian figure wandering the halls, wringing her hands.

The best thing would be for Democrats to ask her to step down now.  It would be the most responsible thing to do, if the nation were more important to them than power.  And the American news media — fairly or not firmly identified in the public mind as Mrs. Clinton’s political action committee — should begin demanding it.

But what will Hillary do?

She’ll stick and ride this out and turn her anger toward Comey.  For Hillary and Bill Clinton, it has always been about power, about the Clinton Restoration and protecting fortunes already made by selling nothing but political influence.

She’ll remind the nation that she’s a woman and that Donald Trump said terrible things about women.  If there is another notorious Trump video to be leaked, the Clintons should probably leak it now.  Then her allies in media can talk about misogyny and sexual politics and the headlines can be all about Trump as the boor he is and Hillary as champion of female victims, which she has never been.

Remember that Bill Clinton leveraged the “Year of the Woman.”  Then he preyed on women in the White House and Hillary protected him.  But the political left — most particularly the women of the left — defended him because he promised to protect abortion rights and their other agendas.

If you take a step back from tribal politics, you’ll see that Mrs. Clinton has clearly disqualified herself from ever coming near classified information again.  If she were a young person straight out of grad school hoping to land a government job, Hillary Clinton would be laughed out of Washington with her record.  She’d never be hired.

As secretary of state she kept classified documents on the home-brew server in her basement, which is against the law.  She lied about it to the American people.  She couldn’t remember details dozens of times when questioned by the FBI.  Her aides destroyed evidence by BleachBit and hammers.  Her husband, Bill, met secretly on an airport tarmac with Attorney General Loretta Lynch for about a half-hour, and all they said they talked about was golf and the grandkids.

And there was no prosecution of Hillary.

That isn’t merely wrong and unethical.  It is poisonous.

And during this presidential campaign, Americans were confronted with a two-tiered system of federal justice:  one for standards for the Clintons and one for the peasants.

I’ve always figured that, as secretary of state, Clinton kept her home-brew email server — from which foreign intelligence agencies could hack top secret information — so she could shield the influence peddling that helped make the Clintons several fortunes.

The Clintons weren’t skilled merchants.  They weren’t traders or manufacturers.  The Clintons never produced anything tangible.  They had no science, patents or devices to make them millions upon millions of dollars.

All they had to sell, really, was influence.  And they used our federal government to leverage it.

If a presidential election is as much about the people as it is about the candidates, then we’ll learn plenty about ourselves in the coming days, won’t we?

Why I Now Feel Compelled To Vote For Trump

Derek Hunter
Derek Hunter

Last time a Clinton was on the ballot, I voted for Ross Perot.  My vote didn’t deny Bob Dole the White House, but I confess I felt a smug sense of satisfaction in “refusing to settle.”  I sure showed them, didn’t I?

I haven’t been as vocal as other “Never Trump” writers, but neither have I hidden my dislike or tempered my criticism.  In a field of 17 Republican candidates, Donald Trump wouldn’t have been my 18th choice.  I’m still not a fan.  But they didn’t just ask me; they asked everyone.  And more of everyone chose Donald Trump.

I couldn’t do it, I just couldn’t.  For countless reasons I’ve covered over the last year, I dug in my heels and proudly basked in my self-satisfaction.  I still defended Trump in this column and on social media when he was wrongly attacked by the left and the media, but I was steadfast in my opposition to the man.

So what changed?

Not Trump. He still gives rambling speeches with little focus and spends far too much time defending himself against insignificant slights when he should be focusing on policy (though his ethics reform proposal is excellent and will irritate all the people in Washington who need to be irritated).

Hillary hasn’t changed either.  At least not in who she is – a corrupt, self-serving liar willing to do or say anything to win and/or sell out to the highest bidder.  There isn’t enough Saudi Arabian money in the Clinton Foundation to get me to vote for someone who got rich off “public service” and a “commitment to helping the poor.”

No, what’s changed is me.  Not through introspection and reflection, but through watching the sickening display of activism perpetrated by a covert army with press credentials.

Bias has always been a factor in journalism.  It’s nearly impossible to remove.  Humans have their thoughts, and keeping them out of your work is difficult.  But 2016 saw the remaining veneer of credibility, thin as it was, stripped away and set on fire.

More than anything, I can’t sit idly by and allow these perpetrators of fraud to celebrate and leak tears of joy like they did when they helped elect Barack Obama in 2008.  I have to know I weighed in not only in writing but in the voting booth.

The media needs to be destroyed.  And although voting for Trump won’t do it, it’s something.  Essentially, I am voting for Trump because of the people who don’t want me to, and I believe I must register my disgust with Hillary Clinton.

I am not of the mindset that any vote not for Trump is a vote for Hillary, but a vote for Trump is a vote against Hillary.  And I need to vote against Hillary.  I need to vote against the media.

After the last debate, when no outlet “fact checked” Hillary’s lie that her opposition to the Heller decision had anything to do with children, or her lie that the State Department didn’t lose $6 billion under her leadership, I couldn’t hold out any longer.

A Trump administration at least will include people I trust in positions that matter.  I don’t know if they will be able to hold him completely in check, but I know a Clinton administration will include people who have been her co-conspirators in corruption, and there won’t even be a media to hold her accountable.

The Wikileaks emails have exposed an arrogant cabal of misery profiteers who hold everyone, even their fellow travelers deemed not pure enough, in contempt.  These bigots who’ve made their fortune from government service should be kept as far away from the levers of power as the car keys should be kept from anyone named Kennedy on a Friday night.  My one vote against it will not be enough, but it’s all I can do and I have to do all I can do.

I won’t stop being critical of Trump when he deserves it; I won’t pretend someone is handing out flowers when they’re shoveling BS.  But I’d rather have BS shoveled out of a president than our tax dollars shoveled to a president’s friends and political allies.

The Project Vertias [sic] videos exposed a corrupt political machine journalists would have been proud to expose in the past.  The Wikileaks emails pulled back the curtain on why that didn’t happen – journalists are in on it.  I can’t pretend otherwise, and I have no choice but to oppose it.

This isn’t a call to arms for “Never Trumpers” to follow suit; this is a choice I had to make for myself after much reflection.  I wouldn’t presume to tell others how to act any more than I would accept the same from someone else.  I would encourage them to consider what awaits the country should Hillary win.  If they can’t vote against her by voting for him, at least spend these last two weeks of the election directing their ire toward Clinton.

Although most are principled, far too many “Never Trump” conservatives spend more of their time attacking him than pointing out her corruption.  I get it – in him, you see the fight you’ve been a part of being betrayed, and that leaves a mark.

I’m not saying you should support him, but you shouldn’t lose sight of the importance of opposing her.  If, or when, Hillary Clinton takes the oath of office, she needs to have as little support as possible.  Frankly, she needs to be damaged.  The mainstream media won’t do it; they’re in on it.

This is my choice, what I must do.  Each person has to come to this decision on their own terms.  And the fact remains there simply aren’t enough “Never Trump” Republicans to make up Trump’s current deficit, and that’s on him.  But I know what I’ve been wrestling with these past few weeks is not unique to me.  And I don’t know about you, but I simply cannot sit around knowing there was something else I could have done to oppose Hillary Clinton and I didn’t do it.

A simple protest vote for a third party or a write-in of my favorite comic book character might feel good for a moment.  It might even give me a sense of moral superiority that lasts until her first executive order damaging something I hold dear – or her first Supreme Court nominee.  But the sting that will follow will far outlive that temporary satisfaction.

I oppose much of what Donald Trump has said, but I oppose everything Hillary Clinton has done and wants to do.  And what someone says, no matter how objectionable, is less important than what someone does, especially when it’s so objectionable.  A personal moral victory won’t suffice when the stakes are so high.  As such, I am compelled to vote against Hillary by voting for the only candidate with any chance whatsoever of beating her – Donald Trump.

Cries on deaf ears at the turnaround of a dead-end street

There should be a test called “What represents a crime, and what represents a not-crime, and which is worse?”  It should be against the rules to lie on the test or write off the test answers as “relative” and therefore unnecessary to waste time on.

An obvious problem with the test is one of generationally-ingrained blind partisanship.  There are now too many people of voting age who have been conditioned by parents and/or mentors to believe that if you can get away with it, then it’s a not-crime, and if it’s contrary to your partisan belief-system, then it’s a crime–even when it’s truthfully not.

Somewhere along the line, truth was kicked in the ass down a dead-end street.  Most people now thrive, at least politically, at the intersection of partisanship and relativism.

Hillary and Bill are criminals relative to whether or not they got caught, and if caught, whether or not they got indicted.  They each have broken numerous laws over the decades, but with the exception of Bill, they weren’t convicted of any.  Crimes?

Trump is a criminal relative to whether you’re partisan to the Democrats or to the Republicans.  Trump has broken no laws, at least, it has yet to be proven.  Not-crimes?

A dilemma, these cries on deaf ears at the turnaround of a dead-end street.

Growing concerns for Hillary’s questionable health

Physician:  Mainstream Media ‘Strangely Silent’ About Hillary Clinton’s Health

Democratic Presidential candidate, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton slips as she walks up the stairs into the non-profit SC Strong, a 2 year residential facility that helps former felons, substance abusers, and homeless move into self-sufficiency February 24, 2016 in North Charleston.

by Dr. Susan Berry  10 Aug 2016

The executive director of a physicians’ organization questions how the mainstream media can ignore signs of what could be a traumatic brain injury in the Democrat nominee for president.

Dr. Jane Orient, executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, observes that “strangely silent is the mainstream media about the fitness” for presidential office of Hillary Clinton.  At AAPS’ website, Orient summarizes the concerns about Clinton’s health that she says are growing:

There’s the photograph of Secretary Clinton’s difficulty walking up some steps.  Now inability to climb stairs does not necessarily disqualify a person for public office.  However, neither she nor people with her apparently anticipated a problem.  The people helping her seem to be preventing a fall.  Did she simply trip?  Or was it a seizure or a stroke?

Videos widely circulated on the internet are, if authentic, very concerning.  One shows prolonged, inappropriate laughter; another, strange head movements.  In a third, she appeared momentarily dazed and confused, and lost her train of thought. Reportedly, she has a volcanic temper.  (This is probably not new.)

A man who stays close to her, who is reportedly not a Secret Service officer, was photographed carrying something in his hand that purportedly might have been an autoinjector of Valium.

While we don’t have Mrs. Clinton’s medical records, it is widely stated that she experienced a fall that caused a concussion.  Since then, she is sometimes seen wearing eyeglasses with prisms, as are used to correct double vision.

Orient explains that serious concussions can often cause traumatic brain injury that is not always detected on standard medical tests such as a CT or MRI.

“Many of our veterans who experienced blast injury from improvised explosive devices suffer from it,” she continues, adding:

These are some symptoms:  difficulty thinking, attention deficits, confusion, memory problems, frustration, mood swings, emotional outbursts, agitation, headaches, difficulties with balance and coordination, and seizures.  Many veterans with such an injury cannot hold a job or interact normally with their families.

“Obviously, it would be very dangerous for a person subject to symptoms like this to be dealing with foreign leaders or making critical decisions,” she states.  “The President of the United States may have to make world-changing decisions on a moment’s notice.  For example, should we launch nuclear-armed missiles?  And if the Commander in Chief is confused, who will make the call?”

In November of last year, watchdog organization Judicial Watch reported its review of pages of email from Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin, in which Abedin advised a State Department staffer that it was “very important” to review phone calls with Clinton because she was “often confused.”

Abedin had emailed Monica Hanley, a State Department Clinton aide and companion, from her Huma@clintonemail.com address to alert Hanley about the need to review phone calls with the then-Secretary of State.

According to the report, on January 26, 2013, Abedin had the following email exchange with Hanley:

  • Abedin:  Have you been going over her calls with her?  So she knows singh is at 8?  [India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh]
  • Hanley:  She was in bed for a nap by the time I heard that she had an 8am call.  Will go over with her
  • Abedin:  Very imp to do that.  She’s often confused.

Breitbart News asked Orient if the Judicial Watch report of Abedin’s emails is consistent with the signs she notes in her article.

“It is,” she responds, adding:

There are some very concerning things on Twitter #hillaryhealth.  For example, that she naps at 5 p.m. and can’t be aroused, or that her Mini-Mental State exam – which you use to screen patients who might have an organic brain syndrome – has deteriorated since 2013.

“Scurrilous lies?  Or sign that somebody unknown is acting for her?  Could she pass a random drug screen that might be required of a crane operator?” Orient asks.

Orient then poses what is perhaps the most obvious question of all.

“Is it conceivable that Hillary supporters would really be voting for Huma Abedin, Clinton’s top aide, or for the First First Husband President, Bill Clinton?” she asks.  “The American people are entitled to know the objective medical facts about Secretary Clinton.”

‘Clinton Cash: A Graphic Novel’ Sells Out in a Single Day; #5 on Amazon Bestsellers List

Clinton-Cash-Graphic-Novel-Panel-2

by Jerome Hudson  10 Aug 2016

The graphic novel inspired by the New York Times bestselling investigative blockbuster Clinton Cash has entered a second printing just 24 hours after its official launch and now stands at #5 on the Amazon bestsellers list.

Clinton Cash author and Breitbart Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer told Fox & Friends that the graphic novel conveys the fact-based reporting in his book “in a way that makes it accessible to people who don’t have time to sit down and read a serious nonfiction book.”

Like the New York Times bestselling book and documentary film it’s based on, Clinton Cash: A Graphic Novel, adapted by Chuck Dixon and Brett R. Smith, follows the shady connections and dealings between the Clinton Foundation donors, paid speeches given by Bill Clinton, and actions approved by the U.S. State Department while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.

“I think millennials love this sort of approach because it’s humorous. They put in humor. It’s a lot of great visual images,” Schweizer said of the book.

“Stunningly illustrated, hilariously retold, and inspired by the blockbuster book that reshaped the contours of the presidential election, Clinton Cash: A Graphic Novel brings to life Hillary and Bill’s brazen plot to fleece the planet for maximum profit,” publisher Regency said in a release.

Clinton Cash: A Graphic Novel is available online for purchase in hardcover and as an e-book.

Me:  “I thought Erdogan [,Tayip] was the bad guy.  He’s an Islamist fighting against secularism.  I had heard of Gulen [,Fethullah] , but didn’t know anything about him.  I suspected that he wanted to overthrow Islamism in Turkey.  I’m confused.”

Nephew:  Is taxpayer money from his schools being funneled into Hillary’s campaign though?  I’ve read that from at least 3 articles, at least one says it’s quoting court documents.

Me: [After viewing the above video]  The secularists in Turkey, what are left of them, follow Kemal [Mustafa Kemal Ataturk] who was also a secularist back in the early 20th century.  Erdogan and Gulen are pro-jihadist, Islamic fundamentalists who both seek the return of shariah law and the Caliphate.  They had a recent power split.  Erdogan wants to be, essentially, the “Sultan of the Caliphate,” a return to the Ottoman Empire, before Kemal had secularized it.  Gulen wants to run, essentially, the same Islamic State from his billions-dollars compound in the Poconos of Pennsylvania through the educational programs he has set up throughout many U.S. states, using taxpayer dollars.

Erdogan wants Gulen extradited to Turkey where he can imprison him, thus consolidating his sole power.  The FBI has investigated Gulen, and is continuing to investigate him, but cannot pin him down for breaking any laws.  The U.S., therefore, has no basis to extradite him.

The above Washington Times article is unabashedly pro-Erdogan and anti-Gulen. The large rally in Germany shows just how far-reaching is Erdogan’s influence in Europe, however Gulen has graduates of his schools placed throughout Turkey in business, legislative, police and judicial positions, too many for Erdogan to eliminate.

One thing for sure, the Kemal movement is dead, and Erdogan and Gulen are no friends to NATO.  The migration of ISIS jihadists from Syria to Turkey to Europe will continue.  As far as Hillary’s Clinton Foundation connection to Gulen, I still know nothing about that.

Democrats and laxatives

Democrats are falling apart.  Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Convention (DNC) chairwoman, just hours ago resigned, one day before their “shining” four-day, DNC moment begins, for overseeing emails that included disparaging remarks about Bernie Sanders Jewishness and atheism (huh?).  Hillary chose Tim Kaine (who?) as her VP running mate instead of the more progressive Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders.  Kaine, a Catholic, is pro-life but stands for a woman’s choice (huh?).  Longtime Democrats, being interviewed in the press, are turning to Trump instead of Obama (or a Democrat successor) for hope and “real” change.

Then there’s Hillary’s felonious handling of State Department emails (even though she skated through the FBI investigation without so much as a misdemeanor).  At least, she was excoriated by FBI Chief James Comey before he refused to turn her over for indictment.  To cap it off, two films have just premiered, “Clinton Cash” and “Hillary’s America,” which display the Clinton dirt in widescreen.

I believe that a sufficient number of Democrats will either vote for Trump or not vote at all.

If you’re a Democrat, admit it:  You can’t stand the Clintons–Hillary or Bill. You’re in a dilemma.  How will you take the bull by the horns and vote in a meaningful way?  Will you vote for Trump, not at all, or waste your vote on a non-candidate?

Democrats will be keeping laxatives in business from now until the next election.  –SAB

Political science professor forecasts Trump as general election winner

A professor of political science at Stony Brook University has forecasted that Donald Trump has a minimum 97 percent chance of winning the general election as the Republican nominee.

Professor Helmut Norpoth’s forecast presentation took place Monday evening in the SUNY Global Center in Manhattan, which was organized by the Stony Brook Alumni Association.

Norpoth created a statistical model of presidential elections that uses a candidate’s performance in their party’s primary and patterns in the electoral cycle as predictors of the presidential vote in the general election.

Donald Trump has a 97 percent chance of defeating Hillary Clinton and a 99 percent chance of defeating Bernie Sanders in the general election, according to Norpoth’s formula.

“The bottom line is that the primary model, using also the cyclical movement, makes it almost certain that Donald Trump will be the next president,” Norpoth said, “if he’s a nominee of the [Republican] party.”

Norpoth’s primary model works for every presidential election since 1912, with the notable exception of the 1960 election.  These results give the model an accuracy of 96.1 percent.

Norpoth began the presentation with an introduction of the potential matchups in the general election, including a hypothetical Sanders vs. Trump general election.

“When I started out with this kind of display a few months ago, I thought it was sort of a joke.”  Norpoth said referring to Trump and Sanders, as many alumni in the audience laughed.  “Well, I’ll tell you right now, it ain’t a joke anymore.”

As the presentation continued, laughter turned to silence as Norpoth forecasted a 61 percent chance of a Republican win in the general election.

This forecast was made using the electoral cycle model, which studies a pattern of voting in the presidential election that makes it less likely for an incumbent party to hold the presidency after two terms in office.  The model does not assume who would be the party nominees or the conditions of the country at the time.

“You think ‘This is crazy.  How can anything come up with something like that?’ ” Norpoth said, “  But that’s exactly the kind of equation I used to predict Bill Clinton winning in ‘96, that I used to predict that George Bush would win in 2004, and, as you remember four years ago, that Obama would win in 2012.”

Norpoth then added data from the New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries to narrow down the forecast to specific candidates.  As he brought up the first slide with matchup results, the silence was broken by muttering from the audience.

“Trump beats Hillary 54.7 percent to 45.3 percent [of the popular vote].  This is almost too much to believe.”  Norpoth said, with a few members of the audience laughing nervously.  “The probability of that [outcome] is almost complete certainty, 97 percent.  It’s almost ‘Take it to the bank.’ ”

The primary model predicts a Trump victory with such certainty due to Trump’s relatively high success in the Republican primaries, Norpoth said.  Clinton, in comparison, is in an essential tie with Sanders in the Democratic primaries.  As a result, Sanders would also lose to Trump in a similar landslide if Sanders were to be the Democratic nominee, Norpoth said.

In contrast, Norpoth forecasted that a hypothetical presidential race with Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio on the Republican ticket would be a much closer race.  The results showed Clinton with a 55 percent chance of winning the race against Cruz or Rubio with a 0.3 percent lead in the popular vote.

Norpoth’s model showed Sanders losing against Rubio or Cruz with a 0.6 percent gap in the popular vote, giving a Rubio or Cruz ticket a 60 percent chance of winning against the Vermont senator.

Norpoth added that while the non-Trump Republican ticket would be much more unlikely to win the general election due to differences in the popular vote and the electoral college vote, there is almost no chance that Trump would lose the electoral college vote with his forecasted lead in the popular vote.

“If you win by 54 percent [of the popular vote], you have a big majority in the electoral college,” Norpoth said.  “Nobody who has ever gotten 54 percent has lost.”
