Here are some photos from the April 27 and 28 shows at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in the legendary Five Points district of Denver, Colorado. I had never before heard of Alex Grey–speaking of legendary. By the end of the second show, I felt I knew him pretty well. One thing I gained is that he has a very luminous (to say the least) reputation in the art world, in the electronic music world and in the world of holofractographic universe theorizers.
He gave two talks on art, and replicas of his most famous works were hung all around in the theatre. Each of the two nights, while premiere electronic, dubstep, hip hop musicians were performing, he and his wife Allyson jointly painted a canvas on stage left.
In speaking of “visionary art” during his talks, he quoted a range of artists, scientists and philosophers. I’ll intersperse some of the quotes (asap) with the following photos of mine from the two-night experience.
