My first publication with HobGob Press is now available at http://www.bmstroud.com/hobgob-press.html [site is no longer active]. The book is a single poem about God in which people were encouraged, over a period of one year, to submit a few or more lines about their concept of God. Out of one year of submissions, I was included in the final poem–in which the one hundred submissions were threaded by the publisher, Brandon Stroud, into one poem.
The well-known, spoken-word poet Frank Messina [http://spokeface.com/] is also included in the 100 poets along with Brandon Stroud. I’m honored to appear with them in this book. The link http://www.bmstroud.com/hobgob-press.html [site is no longer open] includes a look inside. Please check out the biography of Stroud, who has an incredible resume, and the website for Frank Messina, whom I met in 2012 at a New Riders of the Purple Sage concert in Denver. In the legendary back patio of Quixote’s True Blue, Frank read his poetry onstage while NRPS played their classic, “Garden of Eden.” He recently read onstage in the jungles of Costa Rica with members of the Allman Bros. Band and The Grateful Dead performing onstage behind him. Last year, he read in Aspen, I believe at the Jerome Hotel, along with Johnny Depp, at a tribute for Hunter S. Thompson.
I should add that I’m receiving no profit from the sales, which only cover HobGob’s costs.
